Recently Read: The Last Lecture

The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch

Thanks to my mother-in-law for this life motivating read. There are a lot of wonderful gems in this book that help you to rethink your life and the direction it's heading.

Just a few highlights:

"We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand."

"Complaining does not work as a strategy. We all have finite time and energy. Any time we spend whining is unlikely to help us achieve our goals. and it won't make us happier."

"Time must be explicitly managed, like money." (don't spend time on irrelevant details)

"You can always change your plan, but only if you have one."

"Ask yourself: Are you spending your time on the right things?"

"Proper apologies have three parts:
1) What I did was wrong.
2) I feel badly that I hurt you.
3) How do I make this better?"

This book is worth reading; I'm recommending it for my book club!
